The United Nations declared March 22 as World Water Day back in 1993. It’s a day that aims to put into the spotlight the significance of having sustainable sources of freshwater and the problems that may arise from the lack thereof. Since then, the UN had made several programs which bring public attention to a worldwide crisis.

Failing to understand and address issues, such as the effect of drought or the amount of water needed to produce enough food versus how much we really have, can have serious consequences that will affect not only us but future generations as well.

On this day, people are encouraged to take part by refraining from using tap water for a day. Of course, there’s more than one way for people to show their support to this cause. Hopefully, you found these posters inspiring. Most of these posters would even make great canvas prints. With enough people working together, social issues like this one can be brought to light and tackled head-on.
