UPrinting.com makes a commitment to environmentally friendly printing.

Los Angeles, CA (April 05, 2009) — Today, UPrinting.com announced its eco-friendly green printing initiative. The groundbreaking strategy includes using vegetable and soy-based inks, moving to non-toxic and water-based coatings, recycling all unused paper, plates and ink.

In response to questions about the depth of the initiative, UPrinting.com representative Samuel Nam responded, “We wanted to offer a truly environmentally friendly, green printing service and not just a hot new buzz word.”

The first element of this new green strategy is UPrinting.com’s use of vegetable-based inks which have lower VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) levels. Not only do vegetable inks help create a safer work environment for UPrinting.com employees, the manufacturing process emits less carbon than their petroleum ink counterparts.

The second prong of UPrinting.com’s environmentally-friendly printing strategy is their optional non-toxic, water-based aqueous (AQ) coating. The AQ coating is available with gloss and matte finishes and improves both the print drying times and the bio-degradability of the end product.

Next, UPrinting.com has made a commitment to recycle all of its unused paper scraps, printing plates and ink waste – a move that saves thousands of pounds of waste from ever seeing a landfill.
