One of the oldest adages in advertising is that sex sells. But this ad is the oddest sex “sells” ad I’ve ever seen:

The concept of a beautiful woman wearing nothing but a bra and furry vest advertising a brand of sliced mushrooms is either extremely inspired or crazy. There’s just a basic disconnect between the two. But I can guarantee that within a day or so as this picture makes its rounds of the internet, Nila Sliced Mushrooms will have gotten more publicity in one day than it has in the entire time the company has existed. In fact, a Google search for the brand only yields 4 results, two of which are blog entries on the picture.

But can we take anything from this? It underlines the fact that sometimes thinking outside the box can be very beneficial for a company. Sometimes taking a risk and going outside your comfort zone can pay off.
