Hints on Marketing a New Business
March 25, 2008
My latest marketing article over on Duct Tape Marketing has some suggestions on how to market a new professional business. Although the article focuses primarily on professional businesses like law or medicine, the suggestions are generally universal. One of the hints that I feel translates well to all businesses is this one:
2. Look the Part. Having a uniform look to your company goes a long way towards making your practice look professional. Create a logo and then use it on your letterhead and envelopes. Just because you know that you are putting together your company for the first time does not mean that everyone needs to know it
There is no reason why you have to let people know that your company is small or just starting out. If your company presents itself to the potential customer as a major company, then they will interact with the company as a major company. As long as you can deliver the results, then you can act the part of a major company even if you’re just starting out.
